El nombre de la web es en honor al Tio Matt el viajero y a la filosofía de vida Fraggle.Gobo, el Fraggle

protagonista, tiene un tío llamado Matt, también conocido como Matt el viajero. En cada episodio de la serie Matt está de viaje por el Mundo Exterior (como llaman los Fraggles a nuestro mundo), para explorarlo, y envía postales a Gobo cada semana. El acceso de Fraggle Rock al Mundo Exterior es un pequeño agujero en la pared del taller de un peculiar inventor llamado Doc, y Gobo debe adentrarse en el taller de Doc para recoger las postales de la papelera donde Doc las tira. Los Fraggles llaman a los humanos «estúpidas criaturas» basándose en las descripciones de Matt después de que éste los observase y entrase en contacto con ellos.
Los Fraggles viven una vida muy despreocupada, empleando la mayor parte de su tiempo jugando, explorando y disfrutando en general. Viven a base de rábanos y de las construcciones de los Curris, que son pequeñas criaturas que viven para trabajar.
Desde pequeño he mirando los mapas y soñando con lugares lejanos, con grandes montañas, con navegar mares, con cruzar desiertos y cuando me preguntaban “¿Dónde te gustaría ir?” siempre respondía “a Nueva Zelanda, porque es lo más lejos en el mapa”, pero eso no es del todo cierto, lo más lejos está justo detrás de ti pero dando la vuelta al mundo. Y ese es mi sueño, mi gran sueño.


CURRICULO AVENTURERO

Mi currículo no es de “al filo de lo imposible” pero he procurado que sea lo más coherente en la progresión como aventurero, comenzando con pequeñas aventuras en la infancia y en la adolescencia por mi provincia y ya de adulto viajando por mi país poco a poco. Saltando a Marruecos que es un buen campo de entrenamiento para otras aventuras de más envergadura.
Mi vida deportiva empezó con el fútbol. Como cualquier niño que soñé con ser futbolista pero se cruzó por mi camino el atletismo que me dio la constancia y fondo físico que ahora tengo. Por herencia de mi hermano llegó a mis manos una tabla de windsurf y viviendo frente al océano comenzó una relación que todavía me llena de gozo.
L ctualmente alterno la temporada de nieve para hacer esquí de montaña y un poco de alpinismo con la de verano en donde hago windsurf, viajes en bici, y otros deportes más veraniegos.
Actualmente (2014) estoy trabajando de profesor y no puedo dedicar todo el tiempo del mundo a lo que más me gusta. Poco a poco iré desconectando de la educación y buscando la financianción para mis aventuras.

Vida deportiva:
-Desde los 14 a los 18 años he competido en Atletismo y campo a través (creo que es campo través puedes mirarlo?) siendo campeón de Cádiz en 3000m pista y 7º de Andalucía de campo a través.
-A los 16 años comencé a navegar en tabla de windsurf hasta ahora. Ha sido una evolución progresiva en lo que respecta a nivel y material. Actualmente estoy navegando con dos tablas de funboard de 69 y 84 litros de volumen con una rango de velas que van de 4m2 a 5.4m2
-Desde los 16 años he estado paseando por la baja montaña en excursiones de un día y varios días. Alguna subida a Sierra Nevada.
-He realizado escalada deportiva a un nivel de V+, 6ª
-Practico bicicleta de montaña habitualmente desde 2006 y de bici de carretera desde 2010.
-Soy monitor de natación y voleibol. He trabajado de monitor de natación 7 años. Nado con regularidad en piscina y mar.
-He esquiado en pista todos los años una vez por lo menos cada año. Tengo un nivel muy bajo.
-Desde el año 2008 hasta navidad 2014 he practicando esquí de montaña en Sierra Nevada. Me retiré por rotura de ligamentos de la rodilla.
-Desde el 2010 entreno para mantener una buena forma física
-Triatlon cross de Tarifa 2010 (Challenge) 
-Triatlon cross de Ubrique 2011. Puesto 50 en la general

OUTER SPACE’S CREATURES

The name of my web is in honour of Uncle Travelling Matt and the Fraggle Rock way of life. Gobo, the main character, has an uncle called Matt, also known as Uncle Travelling Matt. In each episode Matt goes and explores the human world (Fraggles call it Outer Space), and he regularly sends postcards back to Gobo. The access from the Fraggle Rock world to the Outer Space is through a small hole into Doc’s workshop. Doc is a man who is an inventor. Gobo must go out into Doc's workshop to retrieve the postcards from the rubbish bin where Doc throws them. The Fraggles call the humans the "Silly Creatures” based on Matt’s descriptions of them.
The Fraggles live carefree lives spending most of their time in play, exploring their worlds, and generally enjoying themselves. They live on a diet of vegetables, especially radishes. Other creatures are the Doozers.   Doozers build their constructions out of an edible candy-like substance (manufactured from radishes) which is greatly enjoyed by Fraggles. They actually want the Fraggles to eat their constructions because "architecture's supposed to be enjoyed" and also so they can go on to build again. Doozers spend most of their time building, and Fraggles spend much of their time eating Doozer buildings. They thus form an odd sort of symbiosis.
Since I was little I have looked at maps and dreamt of faraway places, high mountains, sailing the seas, crossing deserts…and when someone asked me, “¿Where would you like to go?” I would always say, “New Zealand, because it is the furthest place on the map”. But that is not entirely true. The furthest place is just behind you but going around the world. And that is my dream, my big dream.


Adventurer’s Background

My adventurer’s curriculum is not on the edge of the impossible but I have worked hard to make it a good one. Everything started when I was a child with small adventures, through my adolescence exploring my province and then as an adult travelling in my country. Later on, I explored Morocco, which is a good training camp for more serious adventures.
As any other child I dreamt of becoming a professional footballer but I chose athletics instead and that’s what gave me the perseverance and the physical conditions that I have nowadays. From my brother I inherited a windsurf board and as I lived opposite the sea I then started a love story with this sport that, still today, fills me with joy.

I discovered climbing and mountaineering thanks to family influences and university friends. I alternate skiing and mountaineering during the winter season and windsurfing, biking and other sports in summer. As I am currently unemployed, I can spend all my free time doing what I like the most. However, my injuries don’t let keep on with my progress.


Sports life:
-I competed in Athletics and Cross-country from 14 to 18 years old. 
 Results:
-1^st place 3000m in athletics track in Cádiz and 7^th place in Cross-country in Andalucía.

-I started windsurfing when I was 16. It has been a development since then in terms of level and equipment.  At the moment, I am windsurfing with 2 Funboards, 69 and 84 litres of volume and with sails that range from 4.2 meters to 5.5 meters
-I have been hiking and trekking since I was 16. I have done some ascents to Sierra Nevada (Granada).
-My sport climbing level is V+, 6ª
-I have practiced mountain biking since 2006 and road cycling since 2010.
-I am a swimming and volleyball instructor. I worked as a swimming instructor for 7 years. I regularly swim in pool and the sea.
-I have skied at least once a year since I was 14. I am a beginner.
-I have practiced ski mountaineering since 2008 in Sierra Nevada.
-Triathlon training since 2010:

-Triathlon cross Tarifa 2010 (Challenge)
      -Triathlon cross Ubrique 2011. 50th place in the ranking.
